8th Street Revitalization Project – National City
Traffic and Street Lighting
The first phase of this project included underground overhead utilities between National City Blvd & Highland Ave, as well as, replacing the sewer system between 8th St Trolley Station & K. Ave. The second phase included the installation of traffic, pedestrian and streetscape enhancements to calm traffic and make it safer for pedestrians.
The projects goals where to tie-in the new improvements with the area’s previous urban core redevelopment efforts including Southwestern College’s Education Village at National City Blvd & 8th St, a new Chamber of Commerce building, public library, historic Brick Row at A Ave. & 9th St, along with many new mixed-use development projects.
Perry Electric’s role included all the traffic and street lighting improvements.
