HAWK Pedestrian for Safety

Traffic and Street Lighting

Perry Electric installed the traffic signals and lighting for the high-intensity activated crosswalk, or HAWK, during the summer of 2013 near Fourth Avenue and Montgomery Street in Chula Vista. This specific location near an Elementary School was selected to promote the safety of young students, parents and teachers. HAWK signaling systems provide protected pedestrian crossings at unsignalized intersections or mid-block locations. The system included two red traffic signals mounted above a yellow signal that remain off until activated by a pedestrian. Learn more about this project and the HAWK system.
